Counselling is a professional relationship that seeks to empower the individual, the family or the group to accomplish mental health, wellness and make better life choices.
Counselling is a “talking therapy” that allows people to discuss their problems or life situations in a safe and confidential environment. It is a process that people seek out when they want positive change in their lives. Or maybe to simply explore their feelings in depth with a skilled facilitator.
A counsellor is not there to give advice or to tell you what to do. Instead you will be encouraged to discuss what is bothering you. Perhaps identify and maybe understand root causes or specific ways of thinking which are keeping you stuck.
Counselling can show you a wider perspective on life and help you to discover your own personal strengths and resources.
At Solutions Counselling, primarily, the task is to empower you. With guidance and techniques, you will be able to resolve the issues which are stopping you from enjoying life to its’ fullest extent.

“This is my 3 rd visit, I am new to counselling and when I arrive I feel anxious, but I always come out of my session feeling relaxed and relived. Rhoda is very professional and easy to relate to. I am learning skills which I am sure will improve my relationships.” (Adult male – attending therapy)
“Caring, understanding & professional service, recommended.” (Anon)
“I love Rhoda, she has given me my life back and control of how I want to live. I’ve learnt to be stronger, stand up for myself and to say no to people rather than yes and regretting it. I have recommended a friend who now goes too and gets on well with her.”
“Counselling has been a fantastic service for our daughter every session has been a positive and successful experience. Thank you.”
“An understanding counsellor! Took the time to listen and understand the situation – flexible about timing and offered online sessions and extra follow ups when needed.” (Anon)
“I wasn’t sure what to expect from therapy but my sessions with Rhoda have been invaluable. She made me feel completely at ease discussing anything that was on my mind, and being able to let my guard down and express difficult emotions was a huge relief. We got to the bottom of damaging thought patterns and worked through tools to deal with them, which I feel confident using on my own now. Her patience, understanding and guidance have enabled me to make what I am confident will be lasting positive changes. I would definitely recommend her, she is a wonderful therapist and I am very glad to know she is there if I need any future help. Thank you!”
